We arrived at our hotel this morning at around 5:30 in the morning, so the group needed a good rest before we could walk around—more accurately up and down—Athens today. Our hotel rooms were a pleasant surprise, as each person on the trip has his or her own bed and each room has a bathroom. These luxuries were especially nice to have upon our late night arrival.
We were once again kicked off a site as it was closing, but we are getting used to that. A worker at the site also yelled at Nkosi for something, but it was a relatively harmless interaction. I don’t think we can evaluate the food yet, since we had a quick lunch and dinner, consisting of spinach or cheese pies of some sort. Nobody had time to embark on the first mousaka or souvlaki journey yet, except for Jackie. Perhaps tomorrow, on our free day we can sample some of the fine foods of the Athens markets. Until then, we have a relaxing night in our new city.
