In addition to the Ashmolean museum, we had the delightful opportunity of experiencing the majestic town of Oxford. Abby led us around showing us the major sites as well as pointing out some pleasant food places. The architecture and landscape of Oxford was gorgeous. The grass was so green, but the granite of New Hampshire is far superior. We had our first truly British meal at the King Arms Pub: fish and chips; jacket potatoes; and Waggledance honey beer. We also found some delicious cookies and Ben's Cookies! They were tasty but also added to the enormous lump in our yummy tummies. The day ended with a move to a new hotel. The boys gained a bed but lost a bathroom. The girls were separated, gained a bathroom, but not without a hernia from carrying their huge bags up flights of stairs. We look forward to another riveting day at our favorite place, the British Museum.
