Of all the sites we visited today, the most fun was Phourni. Our drive up the rocky hill was impeded by a huge flock of sheep. Included in the flock were adorable little lambs, which Abby quickly pointed out would be butchered soon for the Greek Easter. Once up the hill, we had a relaxing lunch of bread, cheese, fresh oranges, and amazing cinnamon cookies; the meal was all the better since we finally had some sun to go along with it. And before leaving Phourni, Laura, Katherine and Caleb all managed to rip their jeans. While we all thought the drive up Phourni was rocky and difficult, Mount Juktas was much worse. The road up was narrow, unpaved, and precariously close to the edge. At one point there was even a boulder in the middle of the road that had to be carefully avoided. But thanks to the minibus driving skill of our driver Yannis, we made it up and down safely and got to see some beautiful vistas, as well as some mountain goats, to continue with the farm animal theme.
