Today we arrived back in Athens, sun-burned, needing sleep, and excited to start our week of independent research. Perhaps one of the most captivating events of the day was the mating rituals of wild cats that the group witnessed at Perachora. The sight and sounds of the events are now permanently scarred into our memories. We were all very proud of Ben and Abby, who were brave enough to jump off of one of the cliffs also at Perachoa, despite the Blue Guide’s warnings that the currents were strong and the sharks fierce. The long and wet bus ride back to Athens was definitely worth it. Tonight we were reunited with our favorite ice cream in Plaka, and hopefully we can find a grocery store open tomorrow, for our peanut butter and cereal supplies are getting low. This is the last entry until the 29th. We will start the next leg of our journey in Turkey. So until then have a safe and prosperous week.
